Hello there!
This is Ajay Umesh Pai. I'm a Senior Associate in the Competition Practice at Charles River Associates in London. I graduated with a Diploma in Economics from the University of Warwick, followed by an MSc in Economics from the University College of London.
I have worked as a Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore under Dr. Charan Singh, the former RBI Chair Professor of Economics. I interned at India's largest business newspaper, The Economic Times and I was a freelancer on Upwork, a freelancing marketplace. I've also been one of the first employees at a media and content platform called the Under 25 Club.
I am deeply interested in the confluence of economic theory and empirical research, specifically in macroeconomic policy, behavioural economics, competition theory, heterogeneous agents and frictional models. If I had to pick one subject that I'd have to learn for the rest of my life, it would have to be time-series econometrics!
My hobbies and interests are often transient and eclectic. However, some have persisted over time such as my love for football (still recovering from the loss of Lionel Messi as a Barça fan) and Formula 1 racing. I am equal parts avid quizzer, amateur astronomer, rock music aficionado, sports fanatic, burger fiend and saxophone solo connoisseur. Oh, and books are my gateway drugs!
